about

"The Illicit Lovers And The Walking Corpse" is the title of a short story be the hardest-boiled one of them all, the great Jim Thompson. I got out the cello for this one. My dad used to tell this joke: "What is the definition of a gentleman? Someone who owns a (french horn, oboe, soprano saxophone, mandolin...you get the idea) but chooses not to play it." I don't know what made me think of that.
